Land for Wildlife South East Queensland has great information for implementing a management plan for your property - see below.
One thing we would add to this is that while it is great to undertake such detailed planning, it is crucial to take the time to get to know your land before committing to a plan. Spend a lot of time walking your property in all seasons, different weather conditions, and varying times of the day. First hand observation and experience will enrich any formal planning you may undertake.
It is often recommended to use contour maps as part of the planning process. This is probably sound advice. Nonetheless, we did not bother with contour maps as during a couple of years of getting to know our place a little better our management plan evolved in an informal way. And from this we were able to identify the projects we are or will be focused upon.
